How do you apply boric acid in wood to kill termites?Author: admin / Category: kill termites
there are a couple of borate products that are developed to be more water soluble… Timbor and Bora-Rid. Basically mix with water and then treat the wood with a sprayer. More effective to use to help prevent rather than getting rid of them. If they are drywood termites that are actually living in the wood it more than likely won’t penetrate deep enough into the wood to be effective If you are wanting to treat an area where you opened up the wall and it was full of termites, the borate spray will stop the topical entrance of termites, but not get to them if they are traveling through the center ofg the wood and though you will stop the activity where you apply it they will just move over to an untreatded area, whether that is 1 inch from treated area or ten feet to an area they are now undetected for a few years is impossible to say and you do not want to treat the soil around the foundation with the borates, it will act as a long lived herbicide killing the vegetation around the house.
